Foreigners who are interested in working in Switzerland should always keep in mind the hottest sectors of the Swiss economy, where there is strong pressure on Swiss-based companies to recruit from around the world.

Like the banking sector, the luxury goods and watch making sector continues to grow, with large increases in profits, and greater and greater demand for qualified labor, creating more and more specialized jobs in Switzerland.

De Grisogono is a luxury watch and jewelry company rapidly expanding and seeking a Designer to create new jewelry, designs for new watches, and various new custom made products for its clientele. The designer’s job will be to work with the Jewelry and Watchmaking departments.

De Grisogono seeks a multi-talented person with a CFC in jewelry or its equivalent or a graduate from an art school, and with a minium of 5 years of experience working in an equivalent position. The person should have work experience with Photoshop and Illustrator.

Fréderic Piguet SA is seeking for its Quality Control department a specialist who will be responsible for : managing the quality control, creating protocols and controls, checking the various components, participating in dealing with suppliers and subcontractors, taking part in the follow-up and training of colleagues. The candidate for this job should be a technicien ET (or equivalent) with an orientation in watchmaking or microtechnics, have work experience in the watchmaking field, and have on-the-job experience with the manufacturing process and the assembly of components. Cartier is one of the largest luxury brand manufacturers in Switzerland and is currently seeking to fill a job vacancy for a fully qualified Watchmaker.

The job’s responsibilities are to : Insure the assembly of mechanical movements and detect dysfunctions, assuring their correction and reparation. The candidate for this job should have a Watchmaker’s CFC or equivalent and at least 3 years work experience in the reparation of mechanical movements, as well as analytic mind, and an autonomous, rigorous and persevering character.

The profile for the team leader sought is someone with a degree or training as a precision mechanic or micromechanic, 3-5 years experience in a similar job, familiarity working with CNC machines, and who is dynamic and functions well under stress.
